Jake McKelvie has traveled the DIY touring circuit in the US and UK for over a decade, carving out a niche for himself as a songwriter and performer. Known for his off-kilter and whimsical “stream of self-consciousness” lyricism and charming stage demeanor, McKelvie keeps audiences engaged both as a solo performer or with his newly minted backing band, “the New Old Band”. This year will see the release of a new LP and a slew of tour dates to coincide with it. MORE PRESS INFO. He has been featured on WFMUDaytrotterNo Depression and has shared stages with folk legends like Steve Forbert and Bill Staines as well as contemporary indie acts like Jeffrey Lewis, Jeff Rosenstock and Eef Barzelay.
Dave Shepherd (PGH) Since moving back home to Pittsburgh in 2020, Dave Shepherd has quickly become a staple in the local country/folk/bluegrass scene and isn’t done yet. Fronting a full country outfit Dave’s clear voice brings the High and Lonesome sound of Bluegrass to his grungy Rust-Country songwriting style to create a new-yet-familiar sound that instantly draws in any crowd. Host of the monthly Good ‘N Country event at Bottlerocket, Dave has built a new wing on to the already vibrant local scene, and with this wants to make Pittsburgh an ever more popular tour stop for bands in his niche.Dave has three original singles and a set of Hank Williams covers out now, with two more original singles to be released winter ’24/’25. For fans of Doc Watson, Hank Williams, Billy Strings, Neil Young, Old 97’s, Tyler Childers, Ramblin Jack Elliot, and The Grateful Dead.Spotify
