Sarah Halter – Neostem – The Merrick Strain

June 1 @ 8:00 pm - 11:59 pm

$10

The Merrick Strain:

The Merrick Strain is a band formed with the sole purpose of taking everything good about Black Sabbath and making it not that. Loud, sludgey rock music with a side of cheese fries and a coke. No refunds and no free refills.

Neostem:

Started in 2013, Neostem Consists of childhood friends Matt and Ryan. The two grew up on music and spent the better part of their teens playing in and out of bands together. In 2013 the two came together again and formed the project Neostem. They released an E.P. titled U.S.B. Cord in 2015. In 2017 They added Drummer Rob to the mix and later that year recorded their second E.P. LiPiD (released 2018). Following the release of LiPiD they have had more releases (Mr. No Upside – 2019, Return to Sender-2020, Germination – 2021) and have played many shows, even being a local opener for national acts. What makes this band unique is the fact that they are 3 total different personalities and music styles coming together to create the sound only described as Neostem.

Sarah Halter:

Utilizing a modern metal sound drawing influence from progressive, alternative, symphonic, and death metal, the Pittsburgh-based solo powerhouse blazes onward.

After signing one record project to C.ell Arts Records in 2022, Sarah Halter followed up A Clockwork Destiny, a two-song single released independently in 2021, with a completely self-produced, self-performed, and self-recorded four-song EP –The Doom That Binds Us. Upon release, The Doom That Binds Us received critical acclaim from various metal media outlets including Metalized, Zware Metalen, Hellfire-Magazin, and others that praised a fresh approach to songwriting and musicianship in the metal world. Later in July 2023, Sarah released an alternate mix of “Frozen Magnolias”, the second track on A Clockwork Destiny, along with an accompanying music video. 2023 brought a lot of new attention and listeners to Sarah’s work after a full summer of shows in western PA, central PA, and Ohio. Sarah opened 2024 with releasing a new single, “Whisky in the Kitchen”, before embarking on a journey of not only continuing playing shows further from home-base, but also beginning the process of writing a full-length album.
